What a crazy few months it has been, the other day I released my last blog post was in February. Literally time flies by so quickly, right now I am currently in my final month of my Architecture degree. I thought it would be appropriate to do an update of what I have been up to because it has been just the best few months of my life!
01- I ran a half marathon in 2 hours!
I still have to pinch myself at the fact I got to ran a half marathon. Prior to the race it had been a dream of mine for a while so I thought since its my final year at university, why not? I am the sort of person that loves a challenge and to push myself to my limits, which this really did. Having said that it has to be one of those moments in my life I will never forget. From this I am hoping to run the London Marathon next year! Do check out my podcast on my Half Marathon here.
02- I gave my first public talk
Giving public speeches is definitely something I have literally been terrified of. The opportunity came up within my church to give a talk and being bold Melissa at the time I said yes only to release how scared I was of doing this. But I am so glad I managed to put aside my fears and gave a bossing speech, that did actually inspire people. From this I am applying to a TED x talk at Bristol, which is insane. Its been a dream of mine for years to give a TED talk and who knows what the future holds in that!
03- I am currently learning french
As many of you guys know I love all things Parisian and I plan to be moving to Paris next year, after graduation. Therefore I have been frantically been getting down to my French classes. En ce moment j’apprends Français pour trois mois ! ca va tres bien, J’adore la langue, quel un grand motivation pour moi.
04- I have done three presentations of my final architecture project
Currently I am in my final few months of my degree, its crazy. We are currently doing our individual projects. My project is all about reconnecting people to the design of garments therefore I am designing a garment factory mixed in with fashion design workshops and retail. It is a very poetic and conceptual project. I am absolutely loving it. A podcast on my project will be coming soon
05- I started a podcast
This had long been on my mind, but actually I was pretty scared to start a podcast! I honestly thought no one would want to listen to me rambling on about what’s on my mind, but the response has been so humbling I am so glad I started it. I will be continuing to work on my podcast and invite my friend who inspire me to join in too. Do be sure to check it out here.
